Change the time without losing your spot

A button that quietly released the job to a clear "Send new times" that keeps your spot

Volunteer Experience Implemented July 2026

What We Heard

A volunteer told us it was hard to reschedule when his availability changed. When a neighbor asked for a different time, the dashboard did not offer an obvious way to send new times back — and the one button that stood out actually released the request, which was not what he wanted. He ended up replying by email instead.

What Improved

When a neighbor asks for a new time, the dashboard now shows a clear "Send new times" button right on that request, so offering fresh times keeps the commitment instead of giving it up. The button that releases a request has been relabeled so it cannot be mistaken for rescheduling. Volunteers can also send new times straight from a reminder email with one tap — no login — and if someone gets stuck, a gentle follow-up now links directly to that step.

Why It Matters

Plans change. A volunteer whose schedule shifts can offer a new time in a few taps and stay matched with their neighbor — instead of accidentally letting the request go and leaving someone waiting.
