Supporting Veterans Who Served
How IWTMYL identifies, verifies, and prioritizes veteran homeowners — and how veterans can volunteer to help fellow vets.
I Want To Mow Your Lawn is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that connects volunteers with older adults, veterans, and neighbors in need for free lawn care and home services. Our Verified Veteran System helps us identify, respectfully prioritize, and accurately measure our impact for the veteran community we serve.
From Request to Verified Service
Self-Report
Veterans self-report their service on our intake form when requesting help.
Submit Documentation
Those who upload documentation (DD-214 or VA paperwork) advance to "Doc Submitted" status.
Verification Review
Our team reviews the documentation and verifies the veteran's service record.
Priority Matching
Verified veterans receive priority matching with available volunteers in their area.
Your Information, Your Control
Private by Default
We never share exact disability rating percentages publicly. Veterans who opt in may display a badge tier — but only with explicit consent.
Impact, Not Judgment
Verification data helps us prioritize service and report impact — never to judge.
Veteran Controlled
Veterans always control what they share. Disability information is completely optional.
Secure Storage
All uploaded documents are stored securely and accessed only by authorized team members.
How Veteran Verification Helps
Priority Matching
Verified veterans are flagged for volunteers who want to specifically help those who served.
Dignity & Privacy
You control what's visible. Disability information is never shared without your explicit consent.
Reduced Burden
One request covers you — no re-proving your service every time you need help.
Grant-Ready Impact
Verified data helps IWTMYL pursue funding specifically for veteran lawn care relief.

Note: Real testimonials will replace this placeholder as we collect them with consent.
Veteran Impact
Our verified veteran intake system is now live. Verified counts will populate as new veteran requests are reviewed.
What Volunteers See
When volunteers browse open requests, veteran homeowners display badge indicators based on their verification tier. This gives volunteers immediate context for empathy and prioritization — without exposing sensitive details.
These badges appear only on the volunteer request feed — a private view available to registered, logged-in volunteers when they browse open help requests in their area. Badges are never shown publicly on the website, in search results, or to non-volunteers. Disability-related badges appear only when the veteran has explicitly opted in during their intake. Exact disability rating percentages are never displayed.
