Real Estate Volunteers

Real Estate Agents Make Great Volunteers.

You already drive the neighborhoods. You already see who needs help. You already know how to talk to people in their own front yard. That’s exactly what makes a great volunteer for IWTMYL.

Why Real Estate Agents?

You’re Already Doing Most of the Work.

Three things make agents unusually well-suited to help neighbors who need yard care relief.

🏘

You Know the Neighborhood

You drive the same streets every week. You notice the lawn that hasn’t been cut in three weeks. You know the elderly couple on the corner. That local knowledge is hard to replicate.

👀

You Notice What Others Miss

Most volunteers learn about needs through outreach. You learn through observation — between showings, on the way to a closing, walking a property. You see the need before anyone has to flag it.

🤝

You Can Help Without It Being Weird

You already knock on doors. You already meet new homeowners. Stopping by to help isn’t out of character for you — it’s what you already do, just for a different reason.

How It Works

Three Ways to Help — All Through the Same Trusted System

You sign up as an IWTMYL volunteer (background check included), and from there you choose how you want to participate.

Start simple: help one neighbor this season. That can mean volunteering for one yard, organizing one office service day, or referring one homeowner who needs help.
1

Pick up a request when you have time

Browse nearby requests through the IWTMYL app or dashboard. See a yard that needs help between showings? Claim it, schedule it, do it. One visit, 60–120 minutes, on your own time. No commitment beyond that single visit.

Anytime · 60–120 minutes
2

Bring your office for a Service Day

Pick a date with your team. We match you with a cluster of nearby requests. Multiple yards completed in a single morning. Great for team culture, great for the neighborhood, easy to explain to anyone who asks.

Your office · Monthly or quarterly
3

Refer a neighbor who needs help

You don’t even have to pick up a mower. When you encounter someone who needs yard help — an elderly homeowner, a veteran, a neighbor in a tough spot — point them to iwanttomowyourlawn.com/client-signup or 862-66-MOWER. That’s it. You just connected someone to the safety net.

Takes 30 seconds
Important: IWTMYL is volunteer-powered. Coverage varies by location and we cannot guarantee response times. We always try, and we never charge.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need my brokerage’s permission to participate?
No. Any individual can sign up as an IWTMYL volunteer independently. If your brokerage or office wants to participate as a group, we can work with them — but it’s not required.
What does it cost?
Nothing. IWTMYL is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Volunteering is free. Recipients never pay. There is no cost to you or your office.
Is this a real, organized program?
Yes. IWTMYL is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. You volunteer through a structured system with background checks, insurance, masked communications, and logged visits. Everything is coordinated through the organization — it’s not a DIY effort.
Are volunteers insured?
Yes. IWTMYL carries general liability insurance ($1M/$2M), property damage coverage ($500K), and volunteer accident coverage ($1M) through Nonprofits Insurance Alliance. Certificates of insurance are available on request.
What if there aren’t any requests near me?
We’ll do our best to match you. If there’s no immediate demand in your area, you’re still helping by being available — and you can refer neighbors in need to our intake at any time.
Is this a one-time thing or ongoing?
It’s whatever works for you. Some volunteers help once. Some help regularly. There’s no minimum commitment. Most visits are one-time relief — we’re not a recurring landscaping service.
How do I get started?
Sign up at iwanttomowyourlawn.com/volunteer-sign-up. It takes a few minutes. After approval (background check), you’ll see open requests near you in your dashboard.
