Pay It Forward

Open your garage. Help a neighbor.

If you have operational lawn or landscaping equipment gathering dust in your garage or shed, you can give it another chapter — helping approved volunteers care for older adults, veterans, and families who can’t manage their yards. Donate it for good, or lend it for a season. No sales. No fees. Just good tools doing good work.

How it works

Three simple steps

1
Tell us about your equipment

A few quick questions and a photo or two. Only operational, mission-ready gear.

2
We review and list it

Our team checks every listing before it appears — no exact address or contact info is ever shown.

3
It helps a real neighbor

An approved volunteer puts it to work, and you can hear how it helped.

What we can accept

  • Mowers and tools that currently run and work
  • Safe to operate, with guards and shutoffs intact
  • Ready for a volunteer to use right away
🙏

What we can’t accept (yet)

We’re grateful you thought of us. Because volunteers rely on this equipment to safely help neighbors, we can only accept gear that is currently operational — not broken, parts-only, unsafe, or in need of substantial repair. We’re a mission, not a junk-removal service.

Step 1 of 6

How would you like to contribute?

Your privacy is protected. We never publish exact addresses, phone numbers, or emails. Listings show a first name and general city/state only. Contact details are shared privately, by email, only between you and a volunteer you personally accept.
Questions

Frequently asked

Do I have to volunteer if I donate or lend equipment?

Not at all. Sharing equipment from your garage or shed is a complete way to help. If you’re ever open to more, you can tell us — but there’s no pressure, ever.

What’s the difference between donating and lending?

Donating gives the equipment to the mission permanently. Lending means it stays yours: you approve each borrower, set the required return date, and it comes back to you with everything included. Lending is never a sale or rental — no money changes hands, ever. (Only permanent donations may be tax-eligible; loans are not.)

Is my donation tax-deductible?

A permanent donation may be eligible for a charitable deduction. We can provide a written acknowledgment describing the item, but we don’t assign its value and can’t give tax advice. Please consult your tax professional.

What happens after I list something?

Our team reviews it, and once approved it appears on the marketplace for approved volunteers. When a volunteer raises their hand, you decide — and if you accept, contact details are shared privately between just the two of you by email to arrange everything directly.

Will my address be public?

No. We only ever show a general city and state. Your street address stays private, and your email/phone are only shared with a volunteer you personally accept.
