Help your town make sure no neighbor falls through the cracks
Community Stewards are neighbors, landscapers, churches, and civic groups who welcome new volunteers, keep an eye out for people who need a hand, and help free lawn care reach the families who need it. You don’t own the town — you look out for it.
It’s an added layer on your volunteer profile — earn the badge above, and the first step is simply being a registered volunteer.

Already growing, town by town
Every town starts somewhere. Most of the map is still open — and that’s where stewards matter most.
Meet the stewards
Real neighbors already looking out for their towns — founding stewards were the first to raise a hand where they live. Every approved steward takes a turn here.
What a Community Steward does
Be the friendly face
Your photo and first name (or your company’s) join your town’s board — a recognizable local face, with a link to your verified Helper Card. A photo is all it takes to go live.
Welcome new volunteers
When someone new joins in your town, you’re the one who says hello and shares what works locally.
Keep an eye out
Spot a yard that needs help? Submit a Mow Notice. Hear about a neighbor in a tough season? Point them our way.
Light coordination and recognition, not a job. The only ask is that you respond when you can — and free lawn care is never guaranteed by any one person.
Room to grow
Start with one town. Grow only if it fits.
- 1 Start here Community Steward Look out for one town — never alone; towns can have several stewards.
- 2 Down the road Area Steward Connect a few nearby towns, once you’ve found your rhythm.
- 3 When ready Regional Steward Mentor stewards across a wider region.
You’re not doing this alone
You’re joining a circle, not taking a solo shift. Multiple stewards can share the same town, nearby volunteers have your back, and you can invite others to join you. No one is expected to do this alone.
